Legal co-lead (male/diverse)

> You will provide legal documents, legal advice, and assistance, and work closely with other functional teams and dedicated teams, such as the Governance Commission (80% of time spent)

> You will manage the EUR Legal Team and co-ordinate the national teams (20% of time spent) 

Purpose of the Legal team: The Legal team supports Volt Europa by providing legal assistance to the European Board, the European functional teams, and national chapters. The Legal team is responsible for providing legal review and advice to documents such as code of conduct, statutes and regulations. The team drafts contractual documents and supports the organisation in legal disputes.

Purpose of the position:  The Legal co-lead is responsible for managing Volt Europa’s legal issues, creating synergies between the work of the different national legal teams, and providing ad-hoc legal support to the European functional teams. You will be working together with our female co-lead Ana-Maria Firmin.

What we are looking for   

Experience & Skills: 

  • Qualified lawyer (Belgian law would be desirable)
  • Experience in contract law, administrative law and or IP law would be an advantage
  • Desired skills are legal drafting, contract review and contract drafting
  • Communication skills (fluency in French or Dutch)
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Collaborative, team orientated approach
  • Organizational skills
  • Experience in managing teams (optional)

Working together with: Johannes (General Secretary), Ana-Maria (Legal co-lead) and many motivated volunteers 

Hours:  approx. 10 hrs per week, flexible schedule
