The Fight Against SLAPP Lawsuits
The Fight Against SLAPP Lawsuits

For the protection of democracy
This Tuesday, Volt Croatie, Volt Slovenia and Volt Italy invite you to join another Volt Meets Experts on the fight against SLAPP Lawsuits. The session will be held in English.
About SLAPPS
SLAPPs (strategic lawsuits against public participation) are an abusive or meritless lawsuit filed against someone for exercising their political rights or freedom of expression in relation to matters of public interest. The purpose of SLAPPs is not to seek justice but to intimidate, silence and drain the financial and physical resources of the targeted victims. Ultimately, SLAPPs have a 'chilling effect' that goes beyond the individual case and undermines the building up of a healthy and pluralistic civic space in which citizens can actively participate. SLAPPs are an increasing European problem and we want to talk about it!
The speakers of this Volt Meets Experts session are:
Tonći Nazlić - Volt Croatia;
Borja Razinger - Volt Slovenia;
Alessandro Tidore - Volt Italy;
Vladimira Mascarell - Citizens' initiative “Javno je Dobro” – „Public is Good".
