Three most important issues concerning Europe in my view:

  1. The perceived distance (and mistrust) between politics/democracy, and the people, which to me is one of the key challenges in which part of the solution lies for many other problems;
  2. Lack of understanding between different groups in society. I believe that being better informed and more connected to each other could significantly increase our chances of inclusive solution-finding, and avoid further polarization;
  3. The failure of dealing with migration, climate change, and also the rise of populism and extremism I personally see as very important issues, though if we think one step further, these problems to a certain extent are directly related to the first two issues I mentioned, as failing those leads to a failure in solving these as well as other very pressing challenges.

What makes me enthusiastic about Volt:

What makes me enthusiastic about Volt is that we have a vision that we strongly believe in and that we take action to achieve it. The energy that we carry and share with each other is what gives me the hope that making this vision reality is possible together. It's really about the teamwork and feeling that we can actually make a difference through Volt's work. What excites me most about Volt is that we don't just preach whatever we think is right, but that we also (at least try to and are starting to) walk the talk by bringing that change directly through actions on the ground.

My main reasons for joining the „Community Organization Program“:

My main reason to join this program is to learn how to better empower others and bring diverse communities and groups together to create positive change. Leadership skills are super important in any kind of project, and therefore even more crucial when important issues are on the line. The course's focus on leadership applied to social change and movements specifically is so needed at the moment; and I would like to be one of the people that can facilitate and share this knowledge to communities and issues I and we care about.

Contributions could be tax deductible in your country. We are a community of thousands of citizens, and we keep growing at a faster rate than we could have ever hoped for. That’s why Volt needs the economic support of every single one of us. Together, we can drive a real change and re-invent European politics. We are all investing our time and our hopes in this project, so let’s make it real. With your contribution, we can revolutionize the way politics is done. Our donation policy: For donations exceeding the cumulative amount of €3.000 within a year, we will disclose the identity of the donor in compliance with our donation policy, provided that you give us your explicit consent. If you refuse, the total amount of your donation will be returned to you.
